On World Telecommunication and Information Society Day… Engineering Shapes the Features of a Resilient Digital Future
On the occasion of World Telecommunication and Information Society Day 2026, the Deanship of the College of Engineering and Information Technology, represented by the Dean, Prof. Dr. Ghaida Al-Mulla, and with the participation of the academic staff, emphasized the importance of building a resilient and sustainable digital infrastructure capable of adapting to the rapid developments of the digital world, in line with this year’s theme: “Strengthening Digital Lifelines for a More Connected and Resilient World.”
The Dean explained that communication networks and digital infrastructure have become fundamental pillars for ensuring the continuity of education, services, and communication, which requires enhancing the readiness of technological systems and developing smart solutions capable of addressing challenges and ensuring uninterrupted connectivity under various circumstances.
Prof. Dr. Al-Mulla also stressed the vital role of academic institutions in preparing specialized cadres equipped with modern technical skills in the fields of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and information technologies, contributing to digital transformation, sustainable development, and community service.
The College of Engineering and Information Technology reaffirmed its commitment to supporting scientific and technological initiatives that foster digital innovation and contribute to building a more advanced knowledge-based society capable of keeping pace with technological transformations and achieving a secure and sustainable digital future.
