A Launch into the World of Systems and Networks: College of Engineering Opens the First Session of Its Specialized Technical Training Program

Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ghaidaa Al-Mulla, Dean of the College of Engineering and Information Technology, and as part of the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed with the Arab Federation for Digital Empowerment, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Center, the first day of the specialized summer technical training program commenced. The five-day program aims to enhance students’ digital skills and enrich their technical knowledge.

The opening session featured a lecture delivered by trainer Mr. Hassan Hadi Majbil, who introduced the fundamentals of the Linux operating system, the Command Prompt environment, and practical methods of working with it. The lecture also covered the SSH protocol and its importance in enabling secure remote access to systems and devices. In addition, participants were introduced to the Netcat tool and its various applications in data transfer and information security.

This training program aligns with the College of Engineering and Information Technology’s commitment to providing an advanced learning environment that combines theoretical knowledge with practical application. It also supports digital transformation initiatives and contributes to preparing qualified professionals equipped with the skills needed to keep pace with modern technological developments.

The program is expected to continue over the course of five days, featuring a variety of training modules designed to develop participants’ capabilities and enhance their readiness for advanced technical fields.
