After being developed by the College of Engineering and Information Technology as a fully integrated digital project for Al-Zahraa University for Women, the University has officially launched the smart digital “Arbaeen” Platform, an advanced technological ecosystem designed to manage and coordinate the medical and service operations provided to visitors during the Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).

The platform is the result of the academic and engineering expertise of the College, which developed innovative digital solutions tailored to the complex requirements of crowd management and field-service coordination, enhancing operational efficiency and enabling faster response throughout the Arbaeen pilgrimage.

The “Arbaeen” Platform comprises a suite of integrated digital systems, including the Medical Units Management System, Mawkib (Procession) Management System, Lost and Found System, Transportation Management System, Support and Logistics Management System, and Statistics and Reporting System. Together, these systems represent a comprehensive vision for modernizing service management through cutting-edge digital technologies.

The Medical Units Management System marks the platform’s first operational phase. It was initially developed and implemented in 2024 at the Al-Zahraa (peace be upon her) Women’s Medical Unit, where it successfully transformed medical operations into a fully digital workflow by enabling electronic patient registration, secure medical record management, treatment follow-up, pharmaceutical and medical supply administration, and real-time data updates.

The system’s outstanding performance led to the “Arbaeen” Platform receiving official approval from the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for managing the medical units operated by Iraqi universities during the Arbaeen pilgrimage. Building on this achievement, Al-Zahraa University for Women officially launched the platform in its fully integrated form to serve pilgrims, reaffirming the University’s commitment to fostering innovation and investing in the high-impact digital projects developed by its colleges for the benefit of society.
