Under the patronage of the General Secretariat of the Holy Hussaini Shrine and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and organized by the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority, Al-Zahraa University for Women, under the supervision of its President, Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, officially launched the Fifth International Academic Pilgrims Forum under the slogan "Through You, O Hussein, We Have Triumphed." The forum is held in cooperation with the Student Activities Department of the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority and the Popular Mobilization Forces Medical Directorate, reaffirming the University's academic and humanitarian commitment to serving the visitors of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) during the Arbaeen pilgrimage.

 

The opening ceremony was attended by the Secretary-General of the Holy Hussaini Shrine, Hajj Hassan Rashid Al-Abayji, and the Head of the Religious Affairs Department at the Holy Hussaini Shrine, Sheikh Ahmed Al-Safi, alongside a number of distinguished academic and official figures. Their presence reflected the significance of the forum as a platform that brings together academic and service institutions in support of Arbaeen pilgrims.

 

The forum is regarded as one of the University's leading scientific initiatives, embodying the integration of academic responsibility with humanitarian service through the application of scientific and medical expertise to community service. It also strengthens collaboration between universities and religious and healthcare institutions in line with the objectives of sustainable community development inspired by the values of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).

 

A prominent feature of the forum was the active participation of the Medical Unit, directed by Prof. Dr. Noor Hatif Al-Dabbagh, Dean of the College of Pharmacy. The unit plays a pivotal role in providing medical, pharmaceutical, and first-aid services to pilgrims through highly qualified academic professionals working in accordance with the highest standards of professionalism and humanitarian care.

 

The forum also featured a panel discussion highlighting the religious, humanitarian, and civilizational dimensions of the Arbaeen pilgrimage as the world's largest annual peaceful gathering, exemplifying the values of altruism, solidarity, and social cohesion. Participants commended the remarkable dedication of the servants of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), whose selfless commitment represents an inspiring model of generosity and devotion. The discussion further emphasized the importance of integrating academic, medical, and service efforts to support pilgrims and promote a culture of volunteerism and social responsibility.

 

The forum concluded with a ceremony honoring a number of distinguished participants and contributing institutions in recognition of their valuable efforts in ensuring the success of the event. Among those honored was Prof. Dr. Noor Hatif Al-Dabbagh, Dean of the College of Pharmacy and Head of Al-Zahraa University for Women's Medical Unit, in appreciation of her outstanding leadership in managing the medical unit and supervising the healthcare services provided to pilgrims with exceptional dedication and care.
