The Faculty of Education, Department of Mathematics at Al-Zahraa University for Women, in joint cooperation with the University of Karbala and Imam Hussein Holy Shrine Centre for Development and Education, organised the Second International Pi Day Festival. The said event coincides with the commemoration of International Pi Day for Mathematics.

Additionally, the event was attended by Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, the University President , and Dr. Haidar Al-Tamimi, the Head of the University Education Authority, alongside academic figures and an elite group of mathematics pioneers from various Iraqi universities. The festival aimed to demonstrate the applications of Pi, highlight the fundamental role of mathematical sciences in various aspects of life, and motivate students to study it with precision and enthusiasm.

The festival activities commenced with a recitation of verses from the Holy Qur'an, followed by a scientific lecture delivered by Asst. Prof. Amjad Hamid Al-Hussaini, and a special joint exhibition of students' activities. Furthermore, there was a remarkable participation by female students from ZUW, which featured posters and brochures of research published in Scopus and Clarivate repositories by professors from both universities. Besides, innovators were honoured with the Badge of Creativity and Excellence for all participants.

It bears noting that despite the University’s recent inception in the field of higher education, it has organised numerous seminars, scientific festivals, and cultural, religious, and educational forums to acquire an intellectual standing and occupy a prominent position among prestigious universities in order to achieve its desired goals.
