A delegation from the Student Activities Department, in cooperation with the Department of Mathematics, accompanied by a number of female students from Al-Zahraa University for Women, visited a residential care home for the elderly. The delegation also included several academic staff members and second-year students. It is worth noting that the said visit was organised as part and parcel of the University’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with civil society institutions, promoting the values of volunteerism and social responsibility among students, and supporting charitable organisations that provide care for important segments of the community.
The visit aimed to bring joy and comfort to the elderly residents, alleviate their sense of family separation, strengthen social bonds with senior citizens, and help ease their emotional and psychological burdens. It also sought to encourage respect, kindness, and dutiful care towards parents and older family members.
At the conclusion of the visit, the delegation presented the residents with symbolic gifts. The residents expressed their appreciation and delight at the visit, hoping that similar initiatives would continue in the future.
