In celebration of the World Book Day and pride in reading and its role in expanding human perceptions and developing his mental and psychological abilities, and under the auspices of the General Secretariat of the Holy Husayni Shrine and the supervision of the President of Al-Zahraa University for Women , the Central Library Department held a celebration of World Book Day and under the slogan (Treasure on Paper), On Saturday corresponding to 4/29/2023, at Umm Abeha Hall (pbuh). The festival opened with verses from the Holy Quran recited by the reciter: Dr. Muhammad Kadem Al-Mamouri, and the reading of Surat Al-Fatihah, with a pause of homage to the souls of the martyrs of Iraq, to the tunes of the national anthem. Then the speech of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research was said by the President of Al-Kafeel University on his behalf: Prof. Dr. Nawras Al-Dahan,in which he dealt with the importance of the book and its role in regulating man’s relationship with his Creator and his relationship with his fellow man, and the great role played by public and private libraries, especially university libraries, from which the researcher draws information in various fields. Then, the speech by of the President of Al-Zahraa University for Women Followed it: Prof. Zainab Mulla Al-Sultani, in which she recalled the painful memory of the demolition of the graves of the imams of Al-Baqi (PBUT), and indicated the necessity of relying on the Book of God, which encompasses various sciences, knowledge and disciplines. After that, a video prepared by the Department of Media and Public Relations was shown, and it revolves around the library of Al-Zahraa University for Women and its modern scientific sources and valuable books. Then, the General-Secretary of the of Mosul University Libraries: Dr. Saif Al-Ashqar, participated in a cultural symposium entitled (Reviving the Central Library at Mosul University after it was burned and destroyed by the terrorist gangs of ISIS). A war media symposium followed it that was presented by the Director of the War Documentation Division at the Holy Husayni Shrine: Pro. Hazem Fadel, in which he spoke about the Encyclopedia of the Competent Jihad Fatwa, that consists of thirty parts. The books include documenting combat stories, logistical support, and the roles of media agencies and some government institutions. Then, the speech of the Director of the Central Library Department: Ms. Hanan Al-Saadi came, in which she spoke about the competition (reading in a book), which was for the Lady Al-Zahraa (pbuh). In conclusion, shields of thanks and appreciation were presented to a number of guests and personalities, as well as to the winners of the competition. On the sidelines of the celebration, A book Fair was held, in which a number of centers and publishing houses participated, including: the Center for the Revival of Cultural and Religious Heritage / Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, Umm Al-Banin Library (pbuh) at the Holy Abbasia Shrine, and the Dar Al-Kutub Foundation.
