Al-Zahraa University for Women participated in the events of the First National Qur'anic Competition for Female Students of Iraqi Universities in memorising the entire Holy Qur'an, its tajweed(Proper Qur'anic Pronounciation), and recitation. The said competition was hosted at the Islamic University in the Holy City of Najaf, coinciding with the auspicious commemoration of the birth anniversary of Lady Fatima Al-Ma'sooma (PBUH).
The delegation of female students was accompanied by Lect. Dr. Nisreen Ali Al-Jilawi, the Head of the Department of Educational Guidance and Counselling, . The female students were honoured with certificates of appreciation for their blessed participation, alongside a shield presented to the University Presidency and a certificate of participation for the delegation's companion.
It is worth pointing out that this National Qur'anic Competition is the first of its kind at the level of Iraqi universities, featuring the participation of 40 female students representing more than 15 Iraqi universities from various governorates of Iraq. In addition, the female students winning the top three positions will qualify to participate in the international competition to be held in the Holy City of Mashhad in the Islamic Republic of Iran, which is scheduled to take place concurrently with Eid Al-Ghadir celebrations.
