Inam Mohammed The Department of Scientific Affairs at Al-Zahra University (peace be upon her) for women conducted a practical workshop on “The Importance of Using Solar Panels in Residential Areas” in cooperation with the Department of Continuing Education at Al-Kawthar Hall. The scientific workshop, was presented by the Director of the Scientific Affairs Department at Al-Zahra University (peace be upon her) for women,(Prof. Dr. Ali Jaafar Al-Husseini). It laid emphasis on a general view of solar energy systems and their usage in residential areas, its importance and active role in the life of an individual and society, he further stressed upon their specifications in generating sustainable and ecofriendly electrical energy. The scientific workshop came up with recommendations, the most important of which is the necessity of establishing specialized research and training centers in the field of solar energy, developing the work of scientific studies and research in this field, and encouraging solar energy research to achieve the highest efficiency in investing in renewable energy and to secure more sustainable energy sources that are environment friendly.
