Al-Zahraa University Intensifies Environmental Awareness Activities to Promote Sustainability Concepts
Proceeding from its ongoing commitment to promoting environmental awareness and fostering sustainability, Al-Zahraa University for Women organized an educational event themed “Towards Sustainable University Environment.” The initiative was conducted under the steady aegis of Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, the University President, along with the supervision of the Central Committee for Environmental Awareness Programs and Activities. Additionally, Pharmacy Faculty hosted a scientific seminar that witnessed the attendance of a slew of faculty members and female students. The session was led by Prof. Dr. Ali Jaafar Al-Husseini, Chair of the Central Committee, who underscored the critical importance of integrating sustainability principles within educational institutions. Besides, Dr. Al-Husseini outlined the role of universities in imparting those values among students. Furthermore, Asst. Lect. Hawra’ Ibrahim Al-Shukurji delivered an enlightening lecture designed to equip female students with the knowledge and tools necessary to actively engage in environmental preservation and promote sustainability on the University premises. It is significant to point out that the University aspires, to encourage female student participation in environmental activities through such initiatives. Such contribution is intended to cultivate a generation of students with heightened environmental awareness and a profound sense of responsibility towards both the environment and wider society.
