Under the aegis of Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, President of Al-Zahraa University for Women and the supervision of the Central Committee for Monitoring Environmental Awareness Activities and Programs, Implementation of the Environmental Protection Law Committee organized an awareness seminar entitled “Towards a Sustainable University Environment.”
The seminar was presented by Prof. Dr. Ali Jaafar Al-Husseini, Chair of the Central Committee for Monitoring Awareness Activities and Programs, and was attended by a slew of academic staff and female students from Medical and Health Technologies Faculty.
The discussion focused on the concept of sustainability and its significance in the context of climate change in addition to environmental challenges brought by human activities. Additionally, emphasis was placed on the necessity of adopting strategies that minimize environmental impact, preserve the sustainability of natural resources, enhance environmental health quality as well as improve resource-use efficiency.
It bears noting that this seminar is part and parcel of a broader series of activities organized by the University in its continuous efforts to foster environmental awareness and promote the use of modern technologies aimed at mitigating environmental degradation, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals at the national level.
