Under the auspices of the University President, Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, and as part of the ongoing preparations for the Arbaeen Pilgrimage, the College of Health and Medical Technologies / Department of Anesthesia, in cooperation with the College of Pharmacy and the Continuing Education Center, organized a specialized training course on first aid. The aim was to raise the level of medical and nursing readiness among university staff and volunteer students, in preparation for participation in the service and medical units that provide various forms of care annually within the university’s central procession.
The three-day course included both theoretical lectures and practical applications, focusing on first aid fundamentals, methods of handling emergency cases, hands-on training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), as well as modules on quick response to accidents, and the management of fainting, fractures, burns, bleeding, and other injuries that may occur during the pilgrimage season. The sessions were delivered by specialized professors from the university’s medical faculties and departments.
This course came as part of a series of activities organized by the university, through its various colleges and centers, in support of the humanitarian Husayni project, and in an effort to strengthen the role of academic institutions in actively serving the community.
