As part and parcel of its ongoing commitment to promoting a culture of reading and engaging with the latest scientific and intellectual publications. Al-Zahraa University was represented by Ms. Hanan Farouq Mohammed, Director of the Central Library, who participated in the 26th edition of the Baghdad International Book Fair, one of Iraq’s most prominent cultural and intellectual events.

The visit included an extensive tour of local and Arab publishing houses, exploring the newest releases across academic, scientific, cultural, and intellectual fields. The visit also aimed to select titles that would enrich the library’s collection and align with contemporary knowledge developments.

During the visit, Ms. Farouq also met with several authors and writers to discuss their intellectual contributions and explore potential avenues for future collaboration in publishing, authorship, and acquiring new publications for the library.

She also affirmed that this participation reflects the University’s continuous efforts to expand knowledge resources and provide a comprehensive academic environment for female students and female researchers. Additionally, she emphasised that supplying the library with diverse and up-to-date publications plays a vital role in supporting both the educational process and scientific research.

It is worth mentioning that the Baghdad International Book Fair annually attracts wide participation from Arab and international publishing houses and serves as a key platform for fostering cultural exchange and exposure to new intellectual experiences. Furthermore, the University remains dedicated to such initiatives through its regular participation and its strong focus on developing the central library as a cornerstone of knowledge and culture.
