Under the auspicious of the University President, Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, the Department of Administrative Affairs / Civil Defense Division organized a training course entitled: “Chemical and Biological Safety and Security in Laboratories”, delivered by Mr. Mahdi Redha.

 

The course addressed a range of key topics aimed at strengthening awareness of laboratory safety procedures. It included mechanisms for dealing with different types of fires—particularly those caused by chemical substances—along with proper steps for responding to emergencies and minimizing risks.

 

Participants also received detailed instruction on handling gases and flammable materials, as well as on the optimal use of firefighting equipment to ensure rapid control of incidents and the protection of both individuals and facilities.

 

This initiative reflects the University’s commitment to embedding principles of safety and security within the academic environment and to providing a safe educational and research setting. Such efforts not only enhance the quality of the educational process but also contribute to developing the expertise of staff members in the areas of occupational safety and preventive measures.
