As part of the ongoing academic cooperation among Iraqi universities, Al-Zahraa University for Women participated in the First Scientific Forum on Cybersecurity, organized by Al-Hussain University College, with the participation of a distinguished group of professors, researchers, and students from various engineering departments.
The university was represented at the forum by Prof. Dr. Ghaidaa Abdul-Hussein Al-Mulla, Dean of the College of Engineering and Information Technology, who emphasized the importance of strengthening scientific collaboration among Iraqi universities and keeping pace with developments in the field of cybersecurity. She praised Al-Hussain University College for organizing this event, which contributes to enhancing technical awareness and developing students’ research skills.
The forum’s activities took place in a productive academic atmosphere focused on scientific exchange and witnessed wide participation from academic staff specializing in cybersecurity engineering, artificial intelligence, communications, and mobile computing, alongside several faculty members and students. The program also included specialized scientific lectures and student research presentations addressing contemporary topics with a focus on applied and awareness-raising aspects.
Students from Al-Zahraa University for Women actively participated with outstanding scientific presentations in the field of cybersecurity, earning high recognition from the scientific committee. The event concluded with an award ceremony honoring the participants, during which the university’s students achieved top rankings among the leading positions.
Narjis Hani Hassoun, a third-year student in the Department of Cybersecurity Engineering, won third place.
Fatimah Al-Zahraa Ghazwan, a second-year student in the Department of Communications and Mobile Computing Engineering, won fifth place.
This achievement reflects the university’s dedication to fostering academic and research excellence among its students and encouraging their active participation in specialized national academic events. It also reinforces Al-Zahraa University’s standing as a reputable academic institution that keeps pace with scientific advancements in cybersecurity and modern technologies, preparing capable and creative women leaders ready to compete and innovate in the fields of science and knowledge.
