Under the auspices of the President of Al-Zahraa University (PBUH), Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education, Prof. Dr. Iman Sameer Bahiyah, the Department of Art Education organized an artistic workshop titled “Color Adjacency and Its Representations in Baghdadi Shanasheel.” The workshop was led by Asst. Lect. Hijran Nasser Sultan and featured the participation of female students from the department.
The workshop aimed to explore the aesthetics of color adjacency in Baghdadi Shanasheel and to highlight the impact of color in shaping this unique architectural heritage style.
It included a practical component, during which students created artistic models inspired by traditional Shanasheel, reflecting their deep understanding of the interplay between color and Baghdadi architecture.
The workshop concluded with an exhibition of the students’ artworks, which received high praise from attendees for their creativity and exceptional skill in using color in a manner that harmonizes with authentic Iraqi heritage.
