First-year students add a creative touch to the official welcoming ceremony at the College of Engineering and Information Technology.

The initiative of the first-year students at the College of Engineering and Information Technology, which involved preparing a special welcome cake for each department along with symbolic giveaways, came as part of the official welcoming ceremony titled “Towards a Promising Engineering Future.” The event was held at Umm Abiha Hall in celebration of the new students and the beginning of their first academic year.

The initiative covered all departments of the college, namely: Cybersecurity Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Artificial Intelligence Engineering, Communications and Mobile Computing Engineering, and Digital Design Engineering. It also included the design of a unique logo for each department, reflecting its specialization and academic identity, in a step that demonstrated the spirit of creativity and teamwork among the first-year students.

This student initiative received positive feedback and appreciation from the university presidency, the college deanery, as well as academic and administrative staff, who praised the students’ awareness of the importance of active participation in university activities. They emphasized that such initiatives help strengthen belonging and build an engineering personality that combines academic excellence with a human dimension.
