Female students from the College of Engineering and Information Technology participated in the scientific workshop titled “Expression, Not Weakness… Do Not Be Ashamed of Seeking Psychological Therapy,” delivered by the psychiatric specialist Dr. Ali Riyadh Shamkhi. The workshop was part of a series of awareness activities aimed at supporting mental health within the university environment.

The event was held under the patronage of the General Secretariat of the Holy Hussaini Shrine and under the supervision of the President of Al-Zahraa University for Women, Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Sultani. It was organized by the Student Activities Department in cooperation with the Continuing Education Center, emphasizing the importance of promoting psychological awareness and enhancing students’ understanding of the various challenges they may encounter throughout their academic journey.

The workshop addressed multiple themes, focusing on psychological stress among university students, the impact of life challenges on mental well-being, and the importance of accepting and pursuing psychological treatment. It also included an open discussion session to address participants’ questions. The participation of the engineering students reflected positive engagement and a clear interest in such initiatives, which contribute to building a psychologically and academically balanced university environment.
