#Events:
From the heart of the College of Engineering to the “Eye of Life”… a student launches “Iraqi Data Lab,” a platform that transforms Iraq’s data into smart decisions.
As part of the Eye of Life Festival, Al-Zahra University’s (peace be upon her) College of Engineering and Information Technology booth shone with a distinctive contribution from one of its students. Third-year Artificial Intelligence Engineering student Khadija Jawad Abdul-Kadhim presented her pioneering project, Iraqi Data Lab, reflecting the innovative spirit of the college’s students and their ability to apply technical knowledge for community service.
The project is based on creating a digital platform that connects investors and real-world problem owners in the Iraqi market on one side, with students and young data and AI specialists on the other. Within a practical working environment, challenges are presented anonymously, and solutions are evaluated solely on their quality, independent of names or credentials. This approach reinforces fairness, equal opportunity, and gives young talents a real space to demonstrate their capabilities.
The project received significant interaction and praise from booth visitors for its practical vision that supports data-driven decision-making over intuition, contributes to Iraq’s digital transformation, and serves as a promising model for the role of female engineering students in building effective bridges between universities and the labor market, while creating future solutions with young national talent.
