Dr. Alaa Abdul-Razzaq, a faculty member at the College of Pharmacy, Al-Zahraa University (PBUH) for Women, has achieved a significant scientific milestone by publishing his research titled: "Assessment of the activity of Origanum syriacum extract as an antibacterial agent in Carbopol-based gel" in the Tropical Journal of Pharmaceutical Research, an international journal indexed in Scopus and ranked within the Third Quartile (Q3).

The study aimed to identify the most effective extract of the Origanum syriacum plant to be utilized in developing an antibacterial gel. Both aqueous and ethanolic extracts were prepared from the dried plant powder using the maceration method, followed by phytochemical analysis and microbial testing.
