A Scientific Field Trip for Architectural Engineering Students to Al-Fatimi Courtyard to Enhance Applied Knowledge
The College of Engineering and Information Technology – Department of Architectural Engineering organized a scientific field trip for second-year students to the Holy Al-Fatimi Courtyard in Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf, with the aim of strengthening the practical aspect, linking theoretical concepts with field study, and exploring architectural models with an Islamic character.
The visit included a tour inside the corridors of the Al-Fatimi Courtyard, where the students examined the architectural features as well as the aesthetic and structural elements that distinguish the building. They also studied modern expansion methods and their harmony with the traditional and religious character of the site.
The trip also witnessed active academic engagement from the students through discussions and questions directed to the supervising professors, which contributed to enhancing their architectural understanding and developing their analytical skills, within the framework of an academic program aimed at preparing engineering cadres capable of meeting the demands of fieldwork.
