Under the patronage of the President of Al-Zahraa University (PBUH) for Women, Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Sultani, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education, Prof. Dr. Iman Sameer Bahiyya, the Department of English at the College of Education, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Center, reinforced its academic engagement by organizing a specialized training course entitled “Developing Language through Literature.” The initiative reflected the university’s commitment to adopting modern pedagogical approaches that integrate language and literature.

The course, delivered by Lecturer Ghaith Salih Mahdi, aimed to reposition literary texts as an effective tool for building linguistic competence by enhancing deep comprehension and precise expression, as well as fostering participants’ critical and analytical thinking skills, thereby contributing to their academic development.

The course targeted faculty members and students of the Department of English as part of a series of high-quality training programs through which the university seeks to advance educational standards and keep pace with contemporary developments in English language teaching methodologies.
