The Departments of English Language and Special Education /the Faculty of Education at Al-Zahraa University for Women hosted the Third Annual Festival for the Visually Impaired under the motto “Able with Difference.” The said event was under the auspices of the General Secretariat of Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, and with the direct supervision of Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, the University President, and the organisation of Prof. Dr. Iman Sameer Bahiya, the Dean of the Faculty of Education.
The festival was held on Wednesday, 24 January 2024, at Umm Abiha Hall, in collaboration with the Noor Al-Imam Al-Hussain Institute for the Blind and Visually Impaired, Al-Siraj Association, and Al-Sibtayn Academy for Autism and Developmental Disorders.
The programme commenced with a recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an by a child from among the people of determination. This was followed by a series of performances and activities presented by blind and visually impaired participants, including songs, theatrical sketches, the raising of the Iraqi flag, the singing of the national anthem, and other cultural activities.
