Prof. Dr. Qusay Abd Al-Abbas Al-Abyadh, the Dean of the Faculty of Basic Education at Al-Mustansiriya University, and Dr. Iman Sameer Bahiya, the Dean of the Faculty of Education at Al-Zahraa University for Women, signed a twinning and joint cooperation agreement between the Departments of Special Education in the two Faculties. The agreement aims to strengthen academic cooperation and upgrade the scientific and research level in this field.

The meeting included discussions on several academic issues, culminating in the signing of the agreement, which will remain in effect for four years from the date of signing. The agreement comprises eleven key provisions, focusing on:

 • Organising conferences, symposia, and other academic activities.

 • Joint supervision of postgraduate students.

 • Exchange of academic staff.

 • Formation of research teams and conducting joint studies.

 • Promoting international publications.

All these efforts are directed towards advancing the educational and academic mission in Iraq.

In her remarks, Dr. Bahiya, expressed her Faculty’s eagerness to sustain cooperation with the Faculty of Basic Education at Al-Mustansiriya University (Department of Special Education) and to benefit from its academic expertise and human resources. She further commended its pioneering role, the continuous efforts of its faculty and researchers, and their effective contributions to strengthening the progress of Iraqi scientific research in this field.
