Under the patronage of the President of Al-Zahraa University for Women, Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Sultani, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Engineering and Information Technology, Prof. Dr. Ghaidaa Al-Mulla, and in collaboration with the Scientific Affairs Department, the College organized a scientific lecture titled “Safety in Engineering Work Sites,” delivered by Lecturer Mr. Riyadh Kazem. The lecture aimed to reinforce occupational safety culture among students and introduce key preventive practices in engineering environments.
The lecture addressed the most prominent hazards that may be encountered at engineering work sites, including structural, electrical, and environmental risks, while explaining the necessary preventive measures to reduce injuries and accidents. It also highlighted the importance of adhering to international safety standards and the proper use of personal protective equipment.
Furthermore, the session emphasized the need to protect human resources, safeguard equipment and infrastructure from damage, and minimize time losses caused by accidents. It also focused on fostering a sense of safety and reassurance among workers, which positively contributes to improving performance quality and efficiency in engineering projects.
