Under the patronage of the President of Al-Zahraa University for Women, Professor Dr. Zainab Al-Sultani, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Health and Medical Technologies, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Al-Khafaji, a scientific workshop titled “The Modesty of Lady Fatima Al-Zahraa (Peace Be Upon Her)” was held. The session was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Zainab Mohammed Qasim from the Department of Anesthesia Technologies.

The workshop explored the character of Fatima al-Zahraa (peace be upon her) as a timeless symbol of modesty and virtue, and as an enduring role model for both women and men—particularly in light of contemporary challenges that call for adherence to authentic moral and Islamic values.

The lecturer explained the concept of modesty as a commitment to moral integrity and dignity, noting that Fatima al-Zahraa represents a complete model of the Muslim woman. She highlighted her close relationship to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family), her role as the devoted wife of Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him), and as the mother of Hasan ibn Ali and Husayn ibn Ali (peace be upon them).

The workshop also emphasized the importance of modesty in both individual and societal life, as it contributes to preventing moral decline, preserving ethical values, and promoting purity. It underscored that modesty involves safeguarding oneself from desires and prohibitions while adhering to noble principles.

The session concluded by stressing the importance of adopting Fatima al-Zahraa (peace be upon her) as a role model in modesty and dignity, and of confronting negative influences that may target women’s values through certain media trends, fashion, and beauty standards. The importance of awareness and commitment to religious and social values was highlighted as essential to preserving moral identity.
