As part of the scientific activities of the Department of Clinical Nutrition at the College of Health and Medical Technologies at Al-Zahraa University for Women, Assistant Lecturer Maymouna Abdullah Khalifa delivered an educational session titled “The Health Benefits of Thyme,” highlighting the nutritional and therapeutic value of this natural herb.
The session explored the role of Thyme in strengthening the immune system due to its rich antioxidant content. It also addressed its contribution to improving digestion and reducing gastrointestinal discomfort, in addition to its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that support overall health.
Furthermore, the lecture emphasized the importance of Thyme in supporting respiratory health by alleviating cough and soothing airways, as well as its role in stimulating blood circulation. The importance of incorporating it into a balanced diet was highlighted, given its wide range of health benefits.
At the conclusion of the activity, the College reaffirmed its commitment to promoting nutritional and health awareness among students by shedding light on the importance of natural herbs and their role in enhancing public health and preventing diseases, contributing to the development of a healthier and more informed community.
