Al-Zahraa University for Women, through its College of Engineering and Information Technology, in cooperation with Alpha Programming Club, inaugurated the activities of the “NextGen Coders Camp 2026”, the first technology training camp of its kind in Iraq. The camp was held under the patronage of the General Secretariat of the Holy Al-Hussain Shrine, under the supervision of the President of Al-Zahraa University for Women and the management of the Dean of the College of Engineering and Information Technology, at Umm Abiha Hall.

The opening ceremony witnessed distinguished academic and official attendance, alongside a group of specialists and individuals interested in the fields of technology and education. The camp participants were welcomed by the registration and organizing team from the early hours of the morning in an atmosphere characterized by precision, organization, and warm hospitality.

The ceremony commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the recitation of Surah Al-Fatiha in honor of the souls of Iraq’s martyrs, and then the audience stood respectfully for the Iraqi national anthem.

In her speech, the Dean of the College of Engineering and Information Technology, Prof. Dr. Ghaida Al-Mulla, emphasized the importance of investing in young talents and creating an advanced educational and training environment that contributes to preparing a generation equipped with the technical and cognitive skills necessary to keep pace with the rapid developments in technology, programming, and artificial intelligence.

The ceremony also included the screening of an introductory film about the College of Engineering and Information Technology, highlighting its key academic milestones, scientific achievements, and projects aimed at enhancing the quality of technical education and developing students’ capabilities.

Moreover, the Chief Executive Officer of Alpha Programming Club, Mr. Abdullah Hussein Ali, delivered a speech addressing the objectives of the partnership with the university and the camp’s vision of building an active technological community capable of preparing a generation distinguished by creativity and innovation in modern digital fields.

The event also featured a speech on behalf of the university trainers, delivered by Ms. Rawan Adel, who highlighted the importance of the training role in empowering participants and transferring practical and academic expertise throughout the camp period. She also expressed the students’ aspirations and the significance of such specialized training initiatives in developing skills and refining practical experience.

The ceremony included a theatrical performance that embodied the importance of technology in shaping the future and its role in supporting development and innovation. The performance conveyed an educational and creative message aligned with the camp’s objectives and training themes under the title “The Camp… The Code of the Future.”

The ceremony concluded with an introductory segment presenting the participating male and female trainers, showcasing their expertise and training specializations, in preparation for the launch of the camp’s practical program. The attendees then took a group photo to commemorate the beginning of this distinguished scientific and technological event.

The organization of “NextGen Coders Camp 2026” comes as part of the efforts of Al-Zahraa University for Women and the College of Engineering and Information Technology to support technical education, promote a culture of innovation and programming, and open new horizons for young people to build a promising digital future.
