The Dean of the College of Engineering and Information Technology, Prof. Dr. Ghaidaa Abdul-Hussein Al-Mulla, joined the University Presidency in a meeting between the University President, Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, and a delegation from Al-Nukhba Engineering Company to discuss the development of cooperation in the fields of smart systems, building automation, and KNX technologies.

The meeting discussed a proposal to establish a specialized training and research center for KNX technologies and building automation at the university, in addition to developing training, consultancy, and applied research activities. The proposed initiative aims to strengthen the practical dimension of engineering disciplines and provide female students with specialized technical skills that are aligned with the rapid advancements in control systems and smart buildings, as well as the evolving requirements of the labor market.

The meeting comes as an extension of the ongoing training collaboration between the college and the company, which is currently conducting a specialized course in KNX technologies for students of the College of Engineering and Information Technology. The course includes theoretical and practical training on smart building systems, system programming using ETS software, and applications for controlling lighting, air conditioning, and curtains. It also includes hands-on programming using a Demo Case training kit, providing students with practical experience in designing, programming, and operating smart automation systems.
