Al-Zahraa University for Women participated in a training workshop entitled “Gender and Its Role in Serving Society: A Psychological, Social, and Legal Study”. Additionally, the workshop was organised by the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, the Continuing Education Department, and the Gender Unit at Karbala University on Wednesday, 17 May 2023.
Representing Al-Zahraa University for Women at the workshop was Mrs Heba Salem Jawad, Head of the Women’s Empowerment Division.
The workshop explored the concept of gender and its significance in serving society, emphasising equal opportunities for women and men as a means of promoting social justice. It also examined the differences between men and women and discussed approaches to achieving equality across political, cultural, economic, and other sectors.
The workshop concluded with a recommendation to organise further lectures and seminars addressing women’s issues in collaboration with community institutions.
