Artificial Intelligence and Human Rights: An Ethical Commitment to Building a Safe Future
On the occasion of International Human Rights Day 2025, held under the theme “Human rights are the foundation of our dignity in everyday life,” the College of Engineering and Information Technology, represented by its Dean, Dr. Ghaidaa Al-Mulla, along with its academic and administrative staff, affirms that this occasion renews awareness of the importance of human rights—not as distant concepts, but as essential principles we live by every day, forming the core of our dignity and existence.
This occasion also highlights the growing role of Artificial Intelligence in shaping the future of human rights. It represents an opportunity to enhance education, develop services, and improve transparency, while at the same time imposing a responsibility that requires ethical commitment to protect privacy and ensure that technology remains in service of humanity, not at the expense of its rights.
In this context, the College of Engineering reaffirms its commitment to directing scientific research and innovation toward the responsible use of modern technologies, and to integrating human rights values into student projects and academic programs. This approach aims to strengthen awareness of digital rights and safeguard human dignity in an era of rapidly advancing technological development.
