Al-Zahraa University Explores Autism from Children’s Perspectives
President of Al-Zahraa University Under the aegis of Imam Hussein Holy Shrine along with the supervision of Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, Under the aegis of Imam Hussein Holy Shrine along with the supervision of Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, Prof. Dr. Qahtan Fadhel Rahi along with Asst. Prof. Dr. Hiba Jabbar Al-Aqabi presented the workshop. The session focused on the latest scientific diagnosis and comprehension methodologies of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Additionally, the speakers managed to shed light on the significance of close observation of autistic children alongside ways and means of early detection and diagnostic techniques by specialists to assess the severity of the disorder. The speakers also addressed recent studies that link genetic factors to the onset of autism. The said event witnessed active participation from attendees, who posed numerous questions regarding best practices for supporting autistic children and the crucial role of both families and society in boosting their quality of life. The workshop concluded with several key recommendations, highlighting the urgency of early diagnosis and effective intervention, the importance of advancing scientific research in the field, as well as the need for cooperation between academic institutions and the community. Furthermore, such cooperation has to be concerned with raising awareness on autism and the creation of a supportive environment for children and their families.
