Reading: Lifelong Journey of Discovery and Learning

Rehabilitation, Employment, and Follow up Division in cooperation with Education Faculty and Continuous Education Center, organized a scientific workshop entitled “Reading as a Way of Life.” The said event was under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, the University President, and was led by Asst. Lect. Ruqayya Ali Shabut.

The workshop explored the vital role of reading as a fundamental tool for intellectual development and the enhancement of critical and creative thinking skills. The lecturer emphasized that reading is not merely a hobby but a way of life that contributes to personal development and raises scientific and cultural awareness. She further stressed that advanced societies are those that integrate reading into their daily routines.

The session also highlighted the significance of encouraging individuals of all ages to adopt reading as a habit. Additionally, it underlined the responsibility of universities and educational institutions to provide an environment conducive to reading books and scholarly articles, thereby fostering students’ academic and research capabilities.
