Expanded Meeting Discusses Academic Development Plans and Advances University Excellence

Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, President of Al-Zahraa University for Women, held an expanded meeting with the university's administrative and academic staff to discuss a number of requests and proposals related to various academic and administrative matters.

The meeting addressed several key topics, most notably the support for published scientific research and the promotion of publishing in reputable journals. Discussions also focused on ways to develop the university environment in a manner that enhances the quality of education and research, in addition to emphasizing the importance of building effective partnerships with relevant academic institutions—steps aligned with the university’s vision for excellence and leadership.

Plans to establish new colleges and departments that respond to the needs of the labor market were also discussed, including the proposal for a College of Medicine for Women. These initiatives fall within a comprehensive academic development strategy aimed at keeping pace with global technological advancements in higher education.

Dr. Al-Sultani affirmed that the ongoing projects to construct new college buildings and upgrade infrastructure—according to the latest technologies and architectural standards—are part of the strategic vision of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein (PBUH) to strengthen the educational sector and support its advancement in Iraq.

She also stressed the importance of coordination and integration among all university departments and the need for collective efforts to elevate the university academically and administratively, reinforcing its position as a leading academic institution both locally and internationally.

Al-Zahraa University for Women continues to strive toward achieving comprehensive development goals and enhancing its pioneering role in the local and regional community. This effort significantly contributes to the advancement of higher education, scientific research, and innovation, in line with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to boost Iraq’s global academic standing.
