The College of Education at Al-Zahraa University (PBUH) for Women hosted an academic scientific debate that brought together students from the Department of English with their peers from University of Baghdad and University of Kufa. The event took place in an intellectually engaging atmosphere marked by constructive dialogue and distinguished academic interaction.

The debate addressed a number of linguistic and literary topics aimed at developing students’ critical thinking and analytical skills. It also sought to enhance their ability to use English effectively in formal academic discussion, thereby strengthening their communication, presentation, and scholarly argumentation skills.

This activity reflected the advanced academic level of the participating students and underscored the importance of joint scholarly initiatives in strengthening cooperation among Iraqi universities. Such events open broader horizons for the exchange of expertise in ways that serve the educational process and promote students’ presence in academic forums.

The hosting of this debate comes as part of the College of Education’s ongoing efforts to support extracurricular activities that refine students’ academic and cultural development, while fostering a culture of dialogue and intellectual engagement among educational institutions.
