Al-Zahraa University for Women welcomed a Finnish delegation headed by Ms. Anu Saarela, Ambassador of Finland to Iraq. Upon their arrival, the delegation members were greeted by Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, the University President and Prof. Dr. Zuhair Mohammed Jaddou, President University Assistant for scientific affairs, alongside Asst. Prof. Dr. Hassan Al-Qazzaz, and President University Assistant for Administrative and Financial Affairs.
The visit was carried out with a view to explore the service-oriented projects of Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, including those being undertaken by Al-Zahraa University which is a leading educational institution in Iraq dedicated to women empowerment and their enablement to play an effective role in society. Furthermore, the delegation carried out the visit to be acquainted with the current landscape of higher education in Iraq, with special focus on Al-Zahraa University as a prominent academic institution that has garnered significant attention within scholarly circles.
The University’s standing among Iraqi institutions underscores its relevance, while the visit also served as an opportunity to examine prospects for academic and scientific cooperation between educational institutions at both the local and international levels.
During the said event, which was organized in cooperation with Public Relations Department, International Relations Division, the delegation was briefed on the University’s initiatives in supporting female students and advancing scientific and research programs. Besides, Ambassador Saarela expressed particular admiration for the University’s innovative academic model, praising the milestones it has achieved across various disciplines.
It is significant to point out that through such diplomatic engagements, the University seeks to expand its international presence and foster academic partnerships that offer broader opportunities for female students and faculty alike, further strengthening its role both locally and globally.
