Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mullah Al-Sultani the President of the University and with direction by Prof. Dr. Iman Samer Bahia the Dean of Education Faculty, the Special Education Department held a scientific workshop and collaboration with the Babylon University/Basic Education Faculty/the Special Education Department entitled “Higher Education for Slow Learning Students” presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Nawras Shaker Hadi where the most important principles in the field of special education were discussed, and with the key methods of psychological measurement, the law of chance, and the contributions of scientists in this area.
The discussion also addressed the mental capacities of slow learners and who they are. Additionally, Bloom's taxonomy was clarified, and the main problems and solutions faced by students of this type were also discussed.
In the end, there was an opportunity for a questions and answers session where questions related to the specialization were posed by the female students of the department and answered.
