Translation Unit Under the chairmanship of His Excellency the Minister of higher education and scientific research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, the Private Higher Education Council held its first session in the presence and participation of members of the Private Higher Education Council, the president of Al-Zahraa university for women, Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, distinguished university presidents, members of the council, the director of private education, and the director of the study and planning Dpartment at the headquarters of the Ministry of higher education and scientific research. The Council discussed the items on the agenda related to the educational process and the affairs of private universities, including the necessity of observing ministerial regulations and instructions, and voted on a number of items, including issues of higher education and the affairs of private universities. For his part, His Excellency the Minister of higher education and scientific research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi underscored the necessity of creating a true partnership between public and private education, supporting private universities, facilitating loan procedures for teachers, and the Ministry’s directives towards strengthening education in all its aspects, calling at the same time for making the utmost efforts to achieve the mission and goals of both public and private higher education institutions. It is noteworthy that Al-Zahraa University is represented by its president, Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani ranked first in the elections for university presidents of the Private Higher Education Council last year, thus indicating an active and influential presence in the Council’s work, activities that support and promote the educational process in Iraq.
