In recognition of the importance of scientific and research activities in enriching academic perspectives, fostering intellectual growth, and supporting students’ academic excellence, the Department of Mathematics at the College of Education, Al-Zahraa University for Women, organized a scientific field trip for third-year students to the College of Education for Pure Science at the University of Karbala.

The visit was carried out within the framework of the joint twinning agreement between the two universities, and as part of the department’s ongoing commitment to hosting regular scientific activities.

Dr. Saba Nizar Al-Khafaji, Head of the Department of Mathematics, affirmed to the university’s official account:

“The university has adopted diverse activities that ultimately serve the students’ interests, sharpening and expanding their intellectual and academic horizons.”

The program of the trip featured several scientific lectures. Dr. Mohammed Yahya delivered a lecture on “Sequences in Metric Spaces” as part of the mathematical analysis course, attended by students from both universities. This was followed by a lecture presented by Asst. Prof. Amjad Hameed Ali, Associate Dean of the College of Education, who explored the theme of “Aesthetics in Mathematics” as one of the applications of sequences, highlighting the broader significance of mathematics in human understanding.

The visit concluded with a tour of the University of Karbala’s colleges and departments, followed by a recreational stroll through the gardens and courtyards of the campus, giving students the opportunity to connect academically and socially in an inspiring environment.
