As the concluding event of the Guidance Week activities, and in cooperation with the Faculty of Education / Department of Special Education, the University Psychological Counseling Department organized a scientific workshop titled “Mental Health for Our Children and the Meaningful Use of Free Time.” The workshop was delivered by Asst. Dr. Nasreen Ali Al-Jailawi, Head of the University Psychological Counseling Division, with the attendance of students from the department.
The workshop addressed several key themes, including the role of mental health in shaping children’s personalities and supporting their developmental needs, as well as the family’s responsibility in providing a supportive environment and practicing proper guidance and behavioral follow-up. It further explored practical ways to invest children’s free time in meaningful activities that enhance their abilities and strengthen their self-confidence, in addition to examining the causes, impacts, and preventive strategies related to unstructured free time.
This workshop comes as part of an ongoing series of programs organized by the University Psychological Counseling Department, aiming to elevate students’ educational awareness and to strengthen their competencies in psychological and educational counseling, supporting both their academic journey and future professional roles.
