In a step that reflects its ongoing commitment to promoting cultural awareness among students, Al-Zahraa University for Women made a distinguished contribution to the national competition “A Nation That Reads”, launched by the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Ministry of Education.
This participation aligns with the university’s broader vision of empowering students through creative and competitive platforms that foster intellectual growth and knowledge transformation.
The competition’s qualifying round was held at the University of Karbala under the supervision of an academic committee from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Participating students demonstrated remarkable levels of cultural and intellectual engagement in a stimulating and competitive environment. The evaluation panel included Prof. Dr. Faisal Alwan Sahi who led the supervisory committee, along with Asst. Prof. Dr. Ola Mahdi Abdul Ali, Asst. Prof. Dr. Salah Mahdi Uba, and Asst. lect. Husam Arkan Abbas.
Al-Zahraa’s representatives—who had previously ranked highly in the university-level qualifiers—stood out among contestants from participating universities (University of Karbala, Al-Zahraa University for Women, and Al-Warith Al-Anbiyaa University). Notably, Reem Raheem, Tabarak Kareem (Department of Physical Therapy Technologies), and Zainab Fouad (Department of Arabic Language) proudly represented the University and advanced to the final stage.
This achievement reaffirms Al-Zahraa University’s dedication to instilling the values of reading and intellectual engagement among its students, while encouraging active participation in cultural initiatives hosted by both academic and religious institutions—efforts aimed at nurturing a well-informed and enlightened generation capable of contributing meaningfully to society’s progress.
