Under the auspices of the General Secretariat of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him), and under the supervision of the Health and Medical Education Authority/Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) Academy for the Deaf, and in cooperation with Al-Zahraa University for Women/Department of Special Education, and the Colleges of Basic and Special Education at Al-Mustansiriya University, the opening ceremony of the 50th Arab Deaf Week was launched, under the slogan: “Artificial Intelligence: A Bright Path to Education and Rehabilitation of the Deaf.” In her speech, the President of Al-Zahraa University for Women, Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, emphasized the importance of keeping pace with rapid technological and scientific developments through the use of artificial intelligence programs as an effective means to develop the education and rehabilitation of people with hearing disabilities. She pointed out that the establishment of the Department of Special Education at the university came to be a specialized academic platform to serve people with disabilities and qualify educational staff in this field. In his speech, Mr. Abd Al-Wasie Al-Yousfi, President of the Arab Organization for Sign Language Interpreters in Yemen, he emphasized the importance of activating joint Arab action to support the deaf and enhance their education using the latest technological means. For his part, Mr. Raed Jabbar, Director of the Planning and Follow-up Department at the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, explained that the launch of the Special Education Department represents a first step towards establishing a college specializing in people with disabilities, reflecting the state's commitment to empowering these groups and integrating them into society. In the same context, the Dean of the Faculty of Education at Al-Zahraa University, Prof. Dr. Iman Samir Bahiya, pointed out the need to further support the technical education process to facilitate communication among this segment to integrate them into society. Prof. Dr. Alaa Abdul Hassan, Head of the Special Education Department at Al-Mustansiriya University, also pointed to the importance of cooperation between academic institutions, emphasizing that man is a project not limited by the senses, raising the interactive slogan "Silence is a language, and will is a miracle." This event reflects the commitment of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein and its academic institutions to strengthening the role of people with hearing disabilities and activating their scientific and societal potential in line with the aspirations of the modern era.
