Women’s Affairs Division, in cooperation with Sayyida Khadija Hospital, organized an educational seminar entitled “Cervical Cancer”. Dr. Ne’m Mohammed Younis, delivered the session which was held under the direct supervision of Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, Al-Zahraa University President.
The seminar addressed communicable diseases and effective prevention strategies, with an emphasis on the vital role of personal hygiene in their spread reduction. Additionally, Dr. Younis provided a comprehensive overview of cervical cancer, highlighting its causes, early warning signs and symptoms, as well as available prevention and treatment methods. Besides, she underscored the significance of early detection through the Pap smear (Papanicolaou test).
It bears noting that the seminar is part of the University’s ongoing efforts to promote health awareness among women, with special emphasis on the need to intensify educational campaigns due to their vital role in preventing serious illnesses and safeguarding public health.
